Welcome to the Centre for Latin American Studies
About the centre
The purpose of the Centre for Latin American Studies is to create an environment for research, teaching, and debate on Latin America at the University of Copenhagen across a wide range of disciplines, including history, sociology, politics, anthropology, language, literary studies and arts, and to contribute to the collaboration between researchers and students from other universities in Denmark and elsewhere who work with Latin America.
The centre also places great value on the maintenance and expansion of its institutional and personal links with the academic communities in Latin America.
Workshops, seminars and guest lectures
The centre organizes workshops, seminars and guest lectures about a variety of themes and is also responsible for the teaching programme on Latin America (MA level for students studying Spanish or Portuguese), offered at the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Copenhagen.
For further information on the programme, see latinamerikastudier.engerom.ku.dk (in Danish only).
Other Latin American networks in Denmark
The centre also forms part of the Danish Latin American Research Network, LA-Net.
